Elie G. Aoun

I am a board certified psychiatrist in downtown Manhattan, trained in general psychiatry at Brown University, addiction psychiatry at UCSF, and forensic psychiatry at the Columbia/Cornell program, and I have additional expertise in psychotherapy. In my practice I provide diagnostic evaluations including second opinions, treatment using psychotherapy, medication management, and forensic evaluations. I work extensively with LGBTQ patients and believe that LGBTQ affirmative practices are necessary for the community's wellbeing. I published scientific articles and book chapters and gave national presentations on mental health in the LGBTQ community. I also serve as a forensic evaluator and expert witness in legal issues involving LGBTQ persons including discrimination and hostile work environment
