Candice Martin

Psychotherapist
DBT/Contemplative
LCSW-R

My practice is rooted in Buddhist and contemplative practices like mindfulness and compassion-based interventions, which are both emerging and timeless as Eastern wisdom traditions become increasingly supported by Western scientific evidence and adapted to contemporary practitioners. This includes intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, a therapeutic power tool combining cognitive behavioral therapy and buddhist psychologies. My focus in practice is work with people who hold marginalized identities such as those around gender, sexuality, race/ethnicity and romantic style through anti-oppression and identity-affirming interventions. In particular, I have found that marginalized people often struggle with perfectionism/inhibition and specialize in treating these issues.
